Chicago Bulls Upset the Portland Trailblazers

Bulls Win 111-108!

Chicago at Portland Postgame Analysis 01/06/2021

First and foremost, what a game and WHAT A WIN!

The game started with Blazers shooting lights out with their first 18 of 20 points coming from behind the 3 point line. After scoring a career high 29 points in the first half on Sunday against Dallas, Lavine decided to be a playmaker this game with a career high 8 assists in the first half. After giving up 39 points in the first quarter, the Bulls clamped down on defense in the second being able to climb back and close the deficit by halftime. After being down by 20 points in the first half, the bulls were able to come within 4 points at the start of the 4th and finally take a lead midway through the 4th. The game ended up going down the wire with a back and forth game with clutch shots from both teams until the very end.

This is a completely different team this year under Billy Donovan compared to Jim Boylan. If this first quarter happened last year, this team would’ve been blown out, but you have to give them credit, they scrapped and clawed back. This game basically came down to two words. ZACH. LAVINE. Lets just say this man has really taken a step this year and is playing like a complete player, both offensively and defensively. He showed poise and confidence and knocked down a huge go-ahead bucket to put the Bulls up by 4 with 10 seconds left in the game. Coby White also is playing great in the starting role and posted his first double double with a career high in rebounds and was able to knock down two free throws with less than 10 seconds left in the game to ice the game. Sevendifferent Bulls scored in double figures with Coby White leading the way with 21 points.

All in all, its finally nice to see the Bulls show fight and a lot of heart from coming back from a large first half deficit and pulling out a close win with clutch plays at the end. The Bulls are back at it again tomorrow night against Sacramento.
