Chicago Bulls (4-6) at Los Angeles Clippers (6-4)
After dropping the last 2 games in tough fashion, the Bulls are tasked with facing off against Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and the LA Clippers. The Clippers are coming of a 115-105 defeat to the Golden State Warriors after leading by 20 points in the second half. Paul George had a team high 25 points and Kawhi Leonard added 24 but the Warriors were just too much in the end being outscored 64 to 40 in the second half. The Bulls were led by a game high 38 points from Zach Lavine who missed a go ahead jumper with less then 10 seconds left. He is averaging 29.3 ppg during the current Western Conference road trip.
The Bulls will need to rely on the scoring of Zach Lavine (26.0 ppg) and Coby White (18.1 ppg) to keep the game close. Otto Porter Jr. is doubtful today after leaving the game midway with back spasms against the Lakers. Lauri Markkanen, Chandler Hutchison, Ryan Archidiacano, and Tomas Satoransky will still be sitting out for today’s matinee making this game tough with the Bulls being severely shorthanded.
I am intrigued to see how Patrick Williams will fair guarding Leonard today. He has already been tasked with Giannis and Lebron in the past few weeks and I think today will be a great learning experience for him. Wendell Carter Jr. will try to improve on his offensive explosion against the Lakers. On the Clippers side, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard provide as formidable duo as there is in the NBA and they will be tough to contain, especially with Porter Jr. being doubtful. It will be important for Williams to stay out of foul trouble or this could become a long day for the Bulls.
