Chicago Bulls Win Back to Back and Take Down the Houston Rockets

After being in so many close games in 2021, the Chicago Bulls (6-8) are finally able to string together a winning streak by taking down the Houston Rockets (4-8) after defeating the Mavericks the night before with a 125-120 victory at the United Center.  The Bulls got all they could handle in a 32 point debut by Victor Oladipo for the Rockets.  Zach Lavine continues his offensive onslaught by pouring in a game high 33 points and added 7 assists.  He led the continual balanced attack from the Bulls with seven players in double figures.  Lauri Markkenan followed up a 29 point effort against the Mavericks by scoring 18 points and made a timely three pointer in the final minute to give the Bulls a 6 point lead.

After a miserable collapse against the Thunder and a handful of close games on the west coast, the Bulls are finally able to get a lead and play with it to win the last two games.  Billy Donovan is changing the culture on this squad to be able to not accept losing and be able to close games out.  The bench is playing very well together as well and Lavine is continually putting on an impressive effort every time he steps on the court.  The confidence he is playing with is slowly turning him into a star and someone, I feel, the Bulls should try to build around.  Elite scorers like this do not grow on trees and the Bulls have a great one on their hands.  The one constant that the Bulls really have to work on is to protect the ball, they are constantly having too many turnovers game to game.

The Bulls are up next against the Charlotte Hornets on 1/22.
