New GM Alert: Chicago Cubs Hire Carter Hawkins

As of Friday Morning, The Chicago Cubs hired Jed Hoyer's right hand man: Carter Hawkins.
Hawkins spent the last 14 years in Cleveland’s front office, including the last five years as an assistant general manager to GM Mike Chernoff. He held a variety of jobs in the Cleveland organization, including scout, assistant director of player development and took over as director of player development in 2015.
Hawkins has been a part of Cleveland’s front office that has flourished in developing pitching over the last decade, watching players such as Shane Bieber and Corey Kluber emerge into Cy Young contenders.
